Bodegas RODA presents the third vintage of its aged white wine: RODA I Blanco 2021. Made from the heads of the slopes of old Tempranillo vineyards, which were planted with white grapes, it is a complex wine full of nuances, gastronomic and original, which surprises for its extraordinary freshness and fruitiness.

Since the Riojan winery inaugurated its adventure in the world of white wines with the 2019 vintage, RODA has been learning from its old and wise Viura vines, researching to extract from them their best version. A process in which only one version ‘RODA I’ has been produced, the nomenclature chosen for the winery's top range, because, as Agustín Santolaya, general manager of Bodegas RODA, points out, ‘in each vintage we have always obtained a great white wine’.

RODA I BLANCO 2021 is thus consolidated as one of Spain's great white wines for cellaring, which can now be enjoyed, but which still has a long life ahead of it. The nose is intense, with notes of citrus fruits such as grapefruit, along with fleshy white fruits such as quince and peach, accompanied by a fresh touch of elderflowers and rhubarb stalks. A complex, refreshing and attractive aromatic ensemble. The palate is full-bodied, fatty, full-bodied and very long, with a marked, sapid acidity that gives it a magnificent freshness. The citrus notes of grapefruit appear, with a subtle bitterness, accompanied by quince and peach in the background. A wine with tension, with a mineral background of limestone notes that takes us to those tertiary soils from which the vineyard drinks directly.
